The National Organization on Disability recently announced that Indianapolis is the winner of its 8th annual Accessible America Competition. Cited as a model of a disability-friendly city, Indianapolis was lauded for our best practices in accessibility and for the inclusive way in which we incorporate people with disabilities into our community. This recognition also is evidence to our city’s commitment to access and inclusion, a commitment which has been shared by city and local leaders on both sides of the aisle.
